History of STC-ACHE

The San Antonio Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives was chartered as a Healthcare Executive Group by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) in 1979.

Articles of Incorporation as a not-for-profit professional association were filed with the Texas Secretary of State’s Office. The South Texas Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (STC-ACHE) was officially chartered as a non-profit corporation in the state of Texas on 29 December 2003. In addition, the STC-ACHE received 501(c)6 status from the Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit business league in 2004.

ACHE conferred Fully Chartered Chapter Designation on 1 August 2004. Officers and Directors were initially elected to serve a 17-month term to coincide with the new fiscal year as adopted in the Chapter bylaws.

The Coastal Bend and Rio Grande Valley Local Program Councils were formed in 2005.
