Message from the President

Our next South Texas Chapter - ACHE member meeting will be the Healthcare Landscape 2008 on Friday, January 25, 2008, from 8-5 pm at Sonterra Country Club.  Mark your calendar and save that date for this premier annual event.  See you there!

Many thanks to the 60 plus affiliates who participated in our recent Fall 2007 Seminar. A special thanks goes to Mr. Andrew M. Welch, MHA, FACHE, who did a super job of facilitating the 1.5 hour CAT 1 presentation on ethics.

These are exciting times at ACHE.  A new program has been approved and instituted to recognize affiliates who contribute nationally or at the local chapter level to ACHE.  The three levels of recognition for volunteer service are described in detail below.  The STC-ACHE board will designate an affiliate to tabulate the points on behalf of our members.  If you are interested in serving in this capacity, please contact Mr. Gary Meyn, meyn@uthscsa.edu,  President-elect.

Please take note of the new link to "Members Login" found on the bottom left side of the STC-ACHE home page.  When you search for you name ("Edit" - "Find") you can update all of your ACHE information. You can also see contact info for your colleagues. We encourage you to verify that your e-mail  listing is correct because this is our primary method of communicating with STC-ACHE affiliates. If you do not find your name listed, please click on the Membership link at the left and sign up to become an affiliate of STC-ACHE.

Students, please note that the STC-ACHE Chapter will offer up to four awards of $500 each for either academic scholarships or professional society meeting sponsorships.  Please see the application below for futher details. The deadline for submitting complete applications is October 31, 2007.  NOTE:   PDFs of transcripts or other required documents may be submitted electronically.  "Student copies" of transcripts are acceptable.    Student Financial Assistance Program Application
